Google Street View. June 6th, 2007.
We recently came across Googles new Street View feature – a further development of Google Maps. Powered by teams of shady Google operatives cruising through city streets in top secret vehicles with panoramic cameras on the roofs, Google’s mission to organise the world’s information continues. Google Maps‘ new “street view” feature is fantastic.
Using Google’s “street view” you can see high-res photography covering thousands of street-level images of major American cities. Check out Time Square.
In the days since the service was launched, numerous blogs have appeared, linking to the most interesting sights that have been captured. It’s hard to tell exactly what you’re seeing in the extraordinary panoramic images captured by Google’s magic van. But below are our top 10.
4. Strange, headless figures next to what looks like a newly dug grave
6. Have a break, have a lean on a lampost!
8. Why yes, you do have a large bottom
And finally…
10. A clear shot of Google’s magic van from a reflection in a window.
