£560k for the letter S. The Internet-based cruise holiday company paid £560,000 for the letter S, they already have the domain www.cruise.co.uk but felt that the domain www.cruises.co.uk was worth over half a million pounds. They set a new British record for spending on a domain after they completed the purchase, the previous record was £150,000 last year for www.recycle.co.uk.
